OpenAI gives ChatGPT memory to help personalize AI services

OpenAI is aiming for ChatGPT to feel personalized by having the AI model feel more privy to specific details. Both developers and OpenAI users recognize that having to enter prompts repeatedly on a timely basis is time consuming.

The current development will allow ChatGPT to remember a user’s information through conversations and inquiries made over time.

According to The Verge , OpenAI says that it’s keeping users in control of ChatGPT’s memory. It has also trained the system to not remember sensitive things about users (e.g, health, finance).

OpenAI has also introduced Temporary Chat to serve as a mirror to Google Chrome’s incognito mode. It’s a means to ask ChatGPT a quick question without affecting its memories of your inquiries. If you’re still wary about these new features, you may also opt to turn memory off for your account.

But for now, memory is just being run as a test open to a limited number of users. We’ll update you about its availability for people using the free version of ChatGPT, as well as subscribers for ChatGPT Plus.

What do you guys think of the new ChatGPT memory feature? Are bots getting smarter good for user experience or worse? Let us know in the comment section below.
