Opensignal, an independent analytics company for mobile network, has published their latest findings for the first quarter of 2023.
Opensignal has posted their report for mobile network experience in the first quarter of 2023 for Globe, Smart, and DITO. This determines points such as fastest download speed, consistency, and experience with media.
They have revealed that among the three mobile networks in the Philippines, Globe has the best experience when it comes to playing multiplayer mobile games, video streaming, and using voice apps on overall. The last network to have this feat was Smart.
Meanwhile, Smart takes the bag for 5G Availability, 5G Reach, and 4G Coverage Experience. Opensignal has pointed out that Smart 5G users have the largest proportion of time on 5g (15.9% versus Globe’s 9.2%). The mobile network also has more Smart users connected to 5G in most of the locations Opensignal has visited.
Smart also takes the award for fastest download speed experience for 5G and overall. It has a score of 25.3Mbps – 2.6Mbps which is faster than DITO’s 22.8Mbps and 9.1Mbps ahead of Globe’s score of 16.2 Mbps. Smart’s average 5G download speeds record to 133.2Mbps.
According to Opensignal, DITO subscribers have the most consistent experience in the Philippines as they take the top spot for Excellent Consistent Quality and Core Consistent Quality. DITO had a score of 58.8% in Excellent Consistent Quality – a lead of 2.1% over Smart. With a score of 79.9% compared to Globe’s 77.7% on Core Consistent Quality, DITO leads by a similar margin of 2.2%.
Opensignal also points out that DITO’s download speed has risen by 5.6Mbps since their last report. While DITO’s Upload Speed Experience score improved by 0.7Mbps, Globe saw the largest increase at 0.9Mbps. Globe has taken the place of Smart in second place as a result, and DITO’s lead has increased from 0.5Mbps to 0.8Mbps.
