PAL prohibits use of Samsung Galaxy Note7 on all its flights

After Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is also prohibiting the use of the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on board all its flights.

In a statement released on their official Facebook account, Philippine Airlines (PAL) said that it is “prohibiting the charging and use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices on board all its flights.”

The prohibition was implemented since September 9, 2016 (Friday) in compliance with the directive of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The directive was based on the recall order made by Samsung on the Galaxy Note7 due to battery issues.

PAL has also added that the Galaxy Note7 is not allowed as checked-in items, but may be hand carried for as long as these are switched off at all times. All Galaxy Note7 units – whether used or brand new – will not be accepted as PAL cargo shipment.

“Safety remains a cornerstone of PAL operations and as such, the flag carrier will be ensuring full compliance on board each flight and is seeking the full cooperation of its passengers.”
