President Duterte to order end to e-sabong

President Duterte said that he will order an end to e-sabong following the recommendation of DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.

In a brief report by Inquirer.net, Duterte said that he agrees with Año’s recommendation to do away with e-sabong and will send an order by tonight or tomorrow.

In March, Duterte has rejected calls to suspend e-sabong in the Philippines as the government earns billions of pesos from its operations. From January to March 15, 2022, the government collected around PHP 1.37USD 0.02INR 2EUR 0.02CNY 0.17 billion from seven e-sabong licensees.
