PUBG banned in Nepal

The online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been banned in Nepal, citing that it has a negative impact on children.

The Nepal Telecommunication Authority directed all internet and mobile service providers in the country to cease and block all traffic from PUBG servers. The ban took place due to a recommendation from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division as the agency has been receiving verbal and written complaints from schools, guardians, parents and the like.

Developed and published by PUBG Corporation, a subsidiary of the video game company in Korea called Bluehole, PUBG was first released in 2017. It has since gained a global following and has also been banned in India in March 2019.
