Globe and Smart subscribers, including customers of TM, TNT, and Sun, may now use the Philippine Red Cross’ RC143 contact tracing app for free.
UPDATE as of August 8, 2020: Smart subscribers may also access the app for free.
As more and more people go out under the new GCQ, the use of contact tracing apps has become more and more essential to ensure safety. The RC143 app interprets the data on the gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS, and other sensors on the device to see how exposed an individual is on the virus. It also notifies the user when they enter a high-risk zone and connect them with the Philippine Red Cross for medical assistance in the event of a possible infection.
Globe has partnered with Red Cross to support the RC143 app, allowing mobile services, including SMS alerts and app advisories. Additionally, accessing the app is free for all Globe, TM, Smart, Sun, and TNT subscribers allowing users to enable its services without worrying about data costs.
The RC143 is compatible with Android Versions 6 and above. You may download it for Android here.
