Reddit has announced that it’s having a lives-streaming feature in its online forum platform that could potentially compete with Twitch and YouTube — the Reddit Public Access Network.
Redditors all over the world can create live broadcasts from 9AM to 5PM PT everyday starting August 20, 2019, until August 23, 2019. The goal of this feature is to explore different broadcasts by swiping or clicking right or left. The community can also upvote the streams to make it to the top rank in Reddit.
“First and foremost, this is about having fun as a Reddit community, and if you all enjoy it, we’ll continue to explore how it might work as an actual feature. So if you have thoughts, suggestions, or other feedback, please share that in the comments of this post. We genuinely want to hear what you all think, and we look through all of the comments we can, including those without many upvotes.”
