Aside from introducing its all-new Redmi Note 12 series of phones, Redmi has also officially launched two new entry-level smartphones — the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+.
The Redmi A2 features a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720) display, a MediaTek Helio G36 processor, and either 2GB RAM+32GB internal storage or 3GB+32GB internal storage.
It has an 8MP main camera at the back with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie shooter at the front at f/2.2 and will also carry a 5000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging via Micro USB.
The A2 will also have Dual SIM support, microSD, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and will run on Android 12 (Go Edition).
Meanwhile, the Redmi A2+ features (almost) the exact same specs.
It will have the same 6.52-inch display, the same Helio G36, the same 2GB RAM+32GB internal storage or 3GB+32GB storage options, and the same 5000 mAh battery capacity.
You’ll also get the same 8MP main and 5MP selfie shooter, Dual SIM and microSD support, and 10W fast charging via Micro USB as well.
The only difference seems to be the rear fingerprint sensor that’s included on the A2+, which isn’t on the regular A2.
Both phones look to have this dotted, textured finish at the back that will most likely be made out of plastic. The two A2 devices will come in either Light Blue, Light Green, or Black.
Right now, there is no official price tag yet for both devices but do stay tuned for more news about the Redmi A2 and A2+,
