Samsung’s next entry-level offering is on the horizon with the Galaxy A16 5G being spotted on the Geekbench database.
Sporting the model number SM-A166P, the phone is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. A slight performance boost is expected compared to last year’s Galaxy A15 5G with the Dimensity 6100+ SoC.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 14.
As for the benchmark result itself, the Galaxy A15 5G achieved scores of 514 and 1464 on single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. It came with 6GB of RAM, but higher memory options will likely be available when the phone officially launches.
Other key specifications are currently undisclosed. To recap, the Galaxy A15 5G featured a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate; up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage; and triple rear cameras including a 50MP main, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens.
The Galaxy A15 5G had a starting price of PHP 10,990, so we can expect the new iteration to have matching price point. Additionally, we can also expect a 4G variant of the Galaxy A16 (same with the A15).
