The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has been launched, offering 6 years for both Android version updates and security patches. With this level of support, the device is slated to run the latest Android version until October 2030.
Aside from its future-proofed software, the phone has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution capping at 90Hz.
As for the other specs, it’s a bit up in the air. To elaborate, European variants will be powered by an Exynos 1330 chipset. Meanwhile, Indian and Thai variants are expected to get a Dimensity 6300 under the hood.
For configurations, the phone will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will also support microSD cards for up to 1.5TB. The phone will ship with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 out of the box.
For optics, the phone will have a triple-rear camera system. This includes a 50-megapixel main, 5-megapixel ultra wide, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. At the front, it’s equipped with a 13-megapixel camera.
The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W of charging via USB Type-C. Other features include its IP54 dust and splash resistance and its side-mounted fingerprint sensor doubling as the power button.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G will come in Dark Blue, Light Green, Light Gray, and Gold color options. As a side note, the available colors for the device may vary upon region.
The device is currently priced at EUR 249 (~PHP 15K) with 4GB/128GB in France. We’ll update readers should the phone arrive in the Philippines once we get details as it’s still a developing story.
