Samsung Launches New 8K QLED Displays Featuring Advanced AI Processors

CES 2024 just a few days away and news are pouring in. one of them is the Neo QLED 8K series, headlined by Samsung’s most powerful TV processor to date. The NQ8 AI Gen3 chip features a neural processing unit that is twice as fast as its predecessor, allowing for more advanced AI-based image processing. It utilizes 8x more neural networks for enhanced 8K upscaling of lower resolution content.

Samsung claims the processor delivers unprecedented upgrades like AI Motion Enhancer Pro, which uses machine learning models to reduce issues like ball distortion in sports. Real Depth Enhancer Pro was also introduced to add depth and realism to fast-moving scenes.

On the design front, Neo QLED 8K adopts Samsung’s new ‘Infinity Air’ aesthetic with an ultra-thin bezel measuring just 12.9mm. Along with impressive picture, it offers top-tier audio technologies such as Q-Symphony for synchronized sound and Active Voice Amplifier Pro for clearer dialog.

The updated Tizen operating system brings a personalized home screen and content recommendations tailored to individual user profiles. Samsung also partnered with accessory maker PDP to launch an exclusive ‘Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub’ controller.

In connectivity, Samsung Daily+ consolidates health, fitness and remote collaboration apps into a single interface. New features like a workout tracker and live vet consultations expand its utility. Multi Control allows seamless multi-device interactions using a single Bluetooth mouse or keyboard.

Samsung’s Micro LED lineup was expanded with the debut of a transparent screen model. Its modular design enables bespoke sizing and aspect ratios to fit any space.

OLED saw wider adoption across sizes from 42-83 inches under new series brands. The flagship S95D boasts a peak brightness 20% higher than before while retaining perfect blacks and colors. All models feature low reflection coatings for daylight viewing.

Lifestyle displays grew too, with The Frame gaining over 2,500 artworks and monthly streaming selections. The world’s first wireless 8K projector – The Premiere – removes cable clutter. The portable Freestyle’s dual projection allows larger 160-inch screens.

Rounding out the audio offerings were thin, customizable Music Frame speakers and high-end soundbars like the 11.1.4 channel HW-Q990D with Dolby Atmos. Accessibility was a focus through innovations such as descriptive audio guides and an inclusive remote control app.

With its 2024 lineup, Samsung looks to push boundaries in picture quality, design and utility through enhanced AI, connectivity across devices and expanded format options to suit diverse consumer needs.
