Samsung is reportedly developing their own mobile GPU for their Exynos chipsets.
The Korean tech conglomerate is known to use Graphical Processing Units (GPU) from ARM for their home-baked Exynos mobile chips but a few weeks ago, they have publicly announced the ongoing development of their own GPU. A team of Graphics specialists from Qualcomm, AMD, and NVIDIA based in California and Texas are already working on it.
The company is planning to implement their own GPUs in the “lower-tier mobile devices” first to test out the waters. It is said that the flagship devices will still continue on using ARM GPUs as they await the results.
