Following a fruitful fiscal year in 2022, ShopBack, Southeast Asia’s top online cashback platform, revealed some of its future plans on April 25. A glimpse of the brand’s upcoming initiatives to maintain momentum and improve the purchasing experience for users was given at a media sit-down with ShopBack Philippines members.
ShopBack generated $1 billion in GMV every month last year, while platform customers took out $10 million in cashback each month. To guarantee that it is well-equipped to serve the 5.5 million ShopBack consumers in the Philippines, the brand also collaborated with over 600 retailers around the nation. ShopBack’s Commercial Director, Timothy Tuason, provided clarification on the matter when asked how the company intends to enhance its offerings to its diverse customer base.
“We look at the data and we also see what is the basket size per user. By observing this, we can then now retarget specific deals, and specific campaigns, because there are certain brands that may not relate the same things to a different type of basket size. So, we make sure we retarget specific campaigns to people we know that have this amount of spending power,” as stated by Tuason.
“Understanding these types of behaviors and making sure we shoot out is what really matters to us. It’s all about providing the opportunity to the users to be able to make their shopping experience better,” he added.
The establishment of the ShopBack Travel Club in May was among the most recent initiatives revealed by ShopBack. The ShopBack Travel and Lifestyle Fair and the 8th birthday celebration of ShopBack, which will take place from June 21 to June 28, were also noted.
Travel is one of the top categories that users look forward to in terms of receiving the greatest value, according to Tuason. ShopBack believes that its success will only increase over the next few years as a result of the impending debut of its newest endeavor.
