Smart has recently launched the Smart University Giga Careers program in collaboration with its partner academic institutions in Visayas and Mindanao. The Smart University Giga Careers program is a series of webinars that feature successful alumni, targeting to inspire college students and prepare them for their careers after graduation.
“We at Smart recognize the value of pursuing education amid our challenging times. We are glad to be able to partner with schools and universities across the country to assist students in their distance learning needs. We look forward to reach and help even more students so that no one gets left behind,” said Melvin Nubla, VP and Head, Go-to-market and Subs Management at Smart.
They started the lineup of seminars at Ateneo de Zamboanga University. Over a thousand students participated in the Facebook live stream on the ADZU Student and Leadership Organization Facebook page. Students from the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod in Bacolod City, Holy Trinity College in General Santos City, and Cebu Normal University in Cebu City have also taken part in the online program.
Other than the webinars, the Giga Careers program also engages organizational work through activities like games. Winners then receive prizes, such as phone kits, tablets, Smart LTE pocket WiFi devices, or load.
