Sony has unveiled the Sony ILX-LR1, an interchangeable lens camera tailored for industrial applications.
With a 61-megapixel 35mm full-frame image sensor, the camera offers high resolution in a compact. And lightweight form factor, making it ideal for drone-based inspection, investigation, surveying, and mapping.
While stills are its primary focus, the ILX-LR1 can also capture videos.
Its compact, lightweight body only measures approximately 3.94 x 2.91 x 1.67 inches and weighs just 0.53 lbs.
The Sony ILX-LR1 isn’t just for drones. This box-shaped camera boasts taps on all six sides, making it an ideal attachment for a variety of devices, including industrial machines, robots, and even submersibles.
Its secure mounting design ensures that the camera stays in place.
Additionally, the camera has a mounting screw hole (1/4-20 UNC) on its bottom surface, and the USB Type-C and HDMI Micro (Type D) ports are conveniently located on the rear for easy installation.
Software-wise, it comes with Sony Camera Remote SDK. This enables users to remotely control camera functions from their own software applications, linking unique image IDs with drone position data in post-processing.
