SOOP 52 is a new, South Korea-based live streaming platform that has just debuted with a global beta launch. Its services are now available for streamers and viewers across web and mobile users.
The platform is intended to be a comprehensive medium, featuring content inclusive of esports and gaming live streams.
According to this article, SOOP has already secured strategic partnerships with some of esports and gaming’s most notable figures. Among the entities are recent Hall of Legends inductee Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok and three-time EVO Tekken champion Bae “Knee” Jae-Min.
As an incentive, aspiring streamers are enticed to sign up with SOOP with their monetization program. Currently, there are two methods to earn revenue, which are “gems” and subscriptions. More options for revenue are to be added, inclusive of ad revenue sharing and in-game drops.
With its launch, the program has an ongoing promotion which lets streamers upgrade their channel monetization tier through easier requirements. Essentially, this lets streamers gain additional benefits with revenue options by being the platform’s pioneers.
To elaborate, streamers under the Rookie tier can qualify for the Affiliate tier by streaming for an hour.
With the promotion period up until August 31, 2024 only, Rookie streamers will need to stream for five hours afterwards. They also have to gain 30 followers while averaging 3 viewers over the last 30 days.
In addition, SOOP is teaming up with game publishers and tournament organizers like Riot Games. The platform is set to produce and operate for Riot Games’ Valorant Challengers event in Thailand later this year.
