Spotify has introduced its new standalone app designed for children and families called Spotify Kids.
Spotify Kids is a simpler version of Spotify, designed for ages 3 and above. Different from the standard Spotify app, the Kids’ version looks to be more colorful and kids can choose their custom avatars. The content on Spotify Kids is hand-picked and curated for children, with music and songs coming from brands such as Nickelodeon, Disney, Discovery Kids, Universal Pictures, and a lot more.
Parents are still in charge of what their kids listen to. Currently, parents can choose which songs and stories their kids hear, but Spotify is looking to add more parental controls in the future.
To start using Spotify Kids, users should first have a Spotify Premium Family subscription. The master account holder can then download Spotify Kids from the App Store or Google Play, then sign in to their Spotify account.
Currently, Spotify Kids is only available in Ireland, but a global rollout is expected to come soon.
