TCL has just unveiled a set of new smartphones at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023, with the headlining phone being the TCL 40 XE 5G, their cheapest 5G offering so far.
The TCL 40 XE 5G will come at a low price of $170 or around Php 9,400 in the Philippines (as converted). It will come with a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 700, and a 5,000 mAh battery capacity.
It only has a 13MP rear shooter at the back, which is what makes it a much cheaper option compared to the 40 X 5G that we’ll be taking a look at below. The 40 XE 5G will also feature an 8MP selfie camera.
Flanking the TCL 40 XE 5G are the TCL 40 X 5G and the TCL 40 XL.
First the 40 X. The TCL 40 X will come with a 6.56-inch screen with HD+ resolution with 90 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 700, and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Pretty similar to the XE 5G right? What differentiates it from the XE is the 50 MP camera shooter at the back, with two 2MP extra cameras to form the camera system.
The 40 X will come at a price of $200 or around Php 11,000 (as converted).
Meanwhile the TCL 40 XL is the only phone here with a 5G connection. It does make up for it with a much larger display, at 6.75-inches. The screen has an HD+ resolution with only a 60 Hz refresh rate.
It has the same camera system as the TCL 40 X and will be priced at $150 or around Php 8,300.
We’ll update you if ever these TCL phones will come to the Philippines. As of now, however, there is no word on them being released here on our shores.
