TECNO Phantom V Flip2, TECNO Phantom V Fold2 launched

The TECNO Phantom V Flip2 and TECNO Phanton V Fold2 foldables have been launched. The devices come with a suite of AI features out of the box. This should be relative to our recent article on the company’s announcement of TECNO AI Vision.

The TECNO Phantom V Flip2 has a 3.64-inch cover screen with a 1066 x 1056 resolution. This is twice as large as its predecessor’s 1.32 cover panel.

As per TECNO, the cover display will have 2K+ support on apps. This should be good for overall user experience, as the display shows music, games, etc.

Once unfolded, the phone will have a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution at 120Hz. Powering it is a Dimensity 8020, coming with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of available storage.

The phone has dual-rear shooters as well, including a 50-megapixel main shooter paired with a 50-megapixel ultra wide sensor. At the front, users will find it equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. The new foldable packs a 4,700mAh battery with support for 70W of Ultra Charge via USB Type-C.

Other features include an AI Writer, AI Translator, AI Eraser, and an updated version of TECNO’s voice assistant Ella. TECNO’s suite of AI integrations are powered by Google Gemini. There’s also AI Artboard and AI Wallpaper in terms of creative tools.

The TECNO Phantom V Flip2 is priced at USD 699 (~PHP 39K). The listing is now available on the brand’s official website 48 for those interested.

Next, we have the TECNO Phantom V Fold2, which has an updated chipset, display setup, and build.

The device is now almost 6.1mm thin when unfolded and under 12mm thin when folded. It weighs 249 grams, down from the 300 grams its predecessor had despite its larger battery.

The device has a 6.42-inch cover screen and a 7.85-inch main display. It’s also powered by the Dimensity 9000+, and comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The phone’s camera systems have been overhauled, and is now equipped with triple-rear 50-megapixel shooters. Aside from its main sensor, it also has an ultra wide and a portrait lens. Plus, it also sports two 32-megapixel front-facing cameras on its cover screen and internal screen.

The phone has a 5,750mAh battery with support for 70W of wired fast charging and 15W of wireless charging. Other features consist of the same TECNO AI Vision integrations featured in the Flip2 device.

The TECNO Phantom V Fold 2 is priced at USD 1,099 (~PHP 61K). It’s lower in comparison to the other foldables in the market. Readers can also check out its listing via TECNO’s website 21.

The foldables will be available for sale on September 23rd in Africa. Launches in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America will follow later this month and early October.
