It is obvious that the current Number Coding Scheme by the MMDA is no longer working as heavy traffic has become a daily routine for millions of commuters in Metro Manila.
A number of solutions have been implemented by MMDA to remedy the incessant problems — MRT Bus, Zipper Line, MRT Beeps Cards, exclusive roads for trucks, as well as expanding the Number Coding Scheme. All that has not been very effective or almost insignificant if at all.
The latest idea, suggested by no other than Pres. Aquino, is to implement the Odd-Even Scheme.
The way I see this, the most radical solution would be t implement an odd-even scheme based on the license plate numbers of vehicles. Traffic flow will surely ease up, because half of the vehicles would vanish from the streets). – Pres. Aquino
We believe there is a more efficient way to de-congest EDSA but what the government is looking is an immediate and clear-cut execution that has an effect, regardless if it is palatable to the driving public.

Just Sayin' says:
Sir, with all due respect, you believe there is a better solution and yet you did not provide your ideas.. The problem is us Filipinos, we lack the discipline to follow the rules and regulations, specially if inconveniences us and no one is looking. I admit that I fall victim to this from time to time but I still try to do what is right most of the time. Simple queueing, pocketing small gum/candy wrappers will go along way towards breaking our bad habit.

Wala kasing urban planning kaya nagkaganito. Kung babawasan naman at idedecommissioned ang mga old cars na pang public dapat may buy back plan ang gobyerno dun. Wala lang just a thought. Ayusin muna public transport bago sana magconduct ng odd even :)
carloxyloxy says:

Who will like to drive to work if the public transportation is adequate and convenient, improve public transportation first before suggesting the odd even scheme, that will be more logical, pls put some IQ in your head.

Maraming dahilan kapag ayaw ma-solusyunan.

Congratulations mr. president! that’s a very good solution! hopefully those who own only 1 vehicle will be inconvenienced enough to leave MM and relocate to a city with less cost of living. I’m sorry for them but MM belongs to the rich (i don’t care whatever means) and/or productive members of society. with all the convenience and better living that MM provides, it’s a privilege and reward to live here. if you don’t have enough money or are not competitive enough, you don’t belong in this city. please move somewhere where you can afford the cost of living.

kwatogs says:
Kalahati daw agad mawawala. Bobong presidente nito.
lol
carloxyloxy says:
lon says:
Hi Abe, it should be Beep and not Beeps.

Galing ano!!!
Di mo naisip? Meron naman shifting ng pasok. Yung iba papasok ng 7am, yung iba papasok ng 9am. At saliwa din ang uwian. At di mo kailangan ng Odd-Even dito.
carloxyloxy says:
@asterisk
Zaq says:
Reduce traffic by half of those who can only afford one car.
Yung multi-car people, change car lang.
Abe Olandres says:
I think damay din yung multiple car families. I know one family who has 5 cars, one for each member (3 kids, mom and dad). They use all 5 every day. Basically odd-even scheme will reduce their usage by half.
Kanto Terror says:
Dude di lahat ng may sasakyan mayaman. Merong middle class 1 car per family lang ang kaya and very important sa everyday life like hatid buong family into school and work.
istingki says:
Francis Tolentino says:
Masikip n b tayo sa bahay??…tra alternate tayo, yung iba matutulog s labas ng bahay, yung iba s loob then kinabukasan palit nmn..pasenya n mga anak kailangan natin mag tipi, kailangan ko ng funds pra tumakbo s senado eh…#MMDA logic

Now odd even nman serosyo ka ba, di kami tulad ng uncle m n si Danding n madami kotse ( awsome car collection btw )
Mahiya ka sa Legacy ng tatay mo Noynoy ur such an incompetent president.
Ur Dad will be very very upset abt how u and ur idiotic circus u call a cabinet is running things. Thanks for nothing.
Marcelo says:
Since the primary objective of traffic management is to speed up the flow of vehicles on the road, there are three solutions. First, decongest the roadnetwork. The most idiotic way to implement this is the odd/even scheme, which could only come from someone whose mental capacity cannot go beyond the average.
.Second, expand the road network in the country. Kung di na sapat ang at-grade space available for new roads, palawakin ang skyway network. Of course pwede rin mag-expropriate.
