Twitter has confirmed that it has been working on an edit feature and will kick off testing.
Twitter released the information after Elon Musk, who bought 9.2% of Twitter and taking a board seat, by the way, posted a poll, asking users if they want an edit button, of which 73.6% responded yes.
Do you want an edit button?

In a separate tweet, Twitter said that they have been working on an edit feature since last year, further clarifying that they didn’t get the idea from Musk’s poll. The company will be testing the feature within Twitter Blue Labs in the coming months.
now that everyone is asking…
yes, we’ve been working on an edit feature since last year!
no, we didn’t get the idea from a poll 😉
we’re kicking off testing within @TwitterBlue Labs in the coming months to learn what works, what doesn’t, and what’s possible.

The edit feature on Twitter is one of those features that many users have been requesting for a while now. Unlike on Facebook where you can edit your post after publishing, Twitter doesn’t allow that. So if your tweet has typos or wants to change something, you’ll either have to live with that or delete and retweet. The edit feature will be more convenient in this case.
