Twitter has recently fixed a vulnerability within Twitter for Android that allowed malicious individuals to access non-public account information and control their accounts.
While Twitter has found no evidence that the vulnerability was exploited, they are taking extra caution to ensure their user’s safety. Twitter has directly notified users who may have been exposed either through the Twitter app or by email for instructions to follow. These instructions are specific to the Android and Twitter version that the user is currently using. Twitter is also urging people to download the latest version of Twitter for Android. The issue did not impact Twitter for iOS.
