UnionBank, partnered with Globe Business, is the first Philippine bank to have a smart bank that uses 5G technology.
UnionBank’s Dasmariñas Cavite branch is the first of its ARK 2.0, or fully digital, branches that will be using 5G technology for seamless connectivity with IoT-enabled services. The 5G technology from Globe is said to be twenty times faster than other available networks, allowing 32 devices to connect at the same time without reducing its performance.
“Excellent customer experience will always be an important driver to a company’s growth and relevance. This is the very reason why we at UnionBank constantly innovate and improve our services to ensure that we offer nothing but the best to our clients… Partnering with Globe for its revolutionary 5G network and connectivity is one way we can provide more seamless and efficient operations.” said Dennis Omilia, UnionBank Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
During the launch of UnionBank’s 15 new ARK branches, UnionBank President and CEO shared that UnionBank plans to improve its network infrastructure with software-defined and AI capabilities. They have a “Tech Up, Pilipinas” advocacy, and wish to provide Filipinos with better financial services with the use of technology.
