UnionDigital Bank has introduced its payments platform called Ubeh Pay during the first Cashless Expo PH 2023 today at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.
Launching in 2024, Ubeh Pay will come as a standout feature within the UnionDigital Bank 28 mobile app 24.
It will offer convenient payment methods such as bills payments, QR-led payments, and contactless payments enabled through Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
Additionally, users can have access to a combo card that pairs a virtual debit card with a credit line functionality.
“Ubeh Pay is the standout feature in our app, showing off our dedication to making everyone part of the financial game through easy, convenient, and secure cashless transactions,” said Henry Aguda, CEO and President of UnionDigital Bank.
Pats de Villa, Chief Product Development Officer at UnionDigital also commented, “The process and the channels by which consumers are able to transact payments must be the least of their worries. In curating solutions for Ubeh Pay on the app, we took into consideration the unique needs of each segment.
“In the end, we are prioritizing simplicity and a seamless touchpoint for various types of payment transactions that Filipinos would need in order to fulfill their everyday needs.”
UnionDigital, a BSP-licensed digital bank of the UnionBank of the Philippines, is committed to promoting financial inclusion by expanding cashless payment options for Filipinos through Ubeh Pay and providing access to a suite of banking products via its mobile application.
By enabling users to strengthen their credit portfolios, UnionDigital is paving the way for increased eligibility for future financial opportunities such as loans, credit cards, and related offerings.
In addition to its domestic focus, UnionDigital is also actively working to extend banking accessibility to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Through collaborative efforts with OFW associations, the digital bank is diligently formulating competitive remittance solutions aimed at mitigating the substantial costs associated with sending money home, which can reach up to 16 percent.
These initiatives underscore UnionDigital’s dedication to bridging the financial gap and empowering both domestic and overseas Filipinos to achieve financial well-being.
