Unveiled: Huawei Watch Ultimate

Huawei Watch Ultimate 1
Huawei has unveiled its competitor for the Apple Watch Ultra with its Watch Ultimate ahead of its April 3, 2023 release date.

Going for a high-performance dive watch design, the Huawei Watch Ultimate garners attention with its 1.5-inch AMOLED sapphire glass display capable of emitting up to 1,000 nits of brightness. This is ideal for low-light conditions especially when diving underwater.
Huawei Watch Ultimate 2
Speaking of diving, the Huawei Watch Ultimate is tested to survive depths of up to 100 meters for up to 24 hours, thanks to a ‘liquid metal’ zirconium alloy case. It has also passed specific diving equipment tests such as EN13319—a certification awarded to specialist depth gauges—and has been awarded an ISO 22810 water resistance standard, which now matches the Apple Watch Ultra. There are also different dive modes to choose from such as recreational scuba dive, technical scuba dive, free-dive and gauge, so this is also handy to a lot of divers with different skill levels and demands.

The design of the watch has also been updated to suit those wearing gloves, with an ‘Ultimate mode’ button (similar to Apple Watch Ultra’s Action button), and a digital crown and function button.
Huawei Watch Ultimate 3
The Ultimate mode button is programmable and can also be used to toggle Expedition mode which automatically switches on advanced dual-positioning GNSS satellite navigation, waypoints, and other features to stop you from getting lost. It also has the suit of standard health and sports features found on other smartwatches in the market.

Pricing is yet to be unveiled, but we will surely update this once it releases.

Compare to the Apple Watch, I preferred the Huawei watch with its 1.5-inch AMOLED sapphire glass display capable of emitting up to 1,000 nits of brightness. This is ideal for low-light conditions especially when diving underwater. Wow!
