UPDATE: The proposed Senate resolution has now been filed before the Malacañan Palace, and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) for formal approval.
The said resolution is signed by 23 senators who sought to suspend ‘e-sabong’ or online cockfighting operations amidst probe for 34 ‘sabungeros’ who went missing as early as April last year.
In an article from CNN Philippines, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa who chairs Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs told The Source on Wednesday that the upper chamber is now waiting for the response of the two parties. He said that they are waiting for appropriate actions through the unanimous resolution. Urging the suspension of license to operate of all e-sabong operators.
Dela Rosa hoped that they will get a quick response to prevent more abductions.
The next Senate hearing on this matter will be on March 3rd, Thursday.
