Vanced YouTube app, an Android app that plays YouTube videos and can block all ads without a premium subscription, is shutting down due to legal reasons.
Vanced said that they are shutting down after they received a cease and desist letter from Google, forcing them to stop the distribution and development of the app. They were also asked to remove all references to ‘YouTube’, change the logo, and remove all links related to YouTube products, a Vanced admin told The Verge.
Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it’s something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.

The existing Vanced YouTube app version will continue to work but said that it will become outdated in 2 years or so.
Vanced has then recommended to users to subscribe to YouTube’s Premium services.
