Vivo enters a 4 billion dollar partnership with Qualcomm

Being only a year and half old in the Philippine market, Vivo has impressively pushed themselves into the local smartphone competition. Locking horns with even the oldest and most reputed brands in the country. To stay competitive they recently released their latest flagship, the V7+, just this September. Now, the company is excited to announce that they’ve entered a partnership with Qualcomm, a leading entity in smartphone technology.

The two companies signed the memorandum of understanding of their partnership last November 9, 2017. The key points of the memorandum are to enhance Vivo and Qualcomm’s technical partnership and patent sharing. Both companies have already been working closely together in the past. We witnessed one of their combined creations when Vivo introduced their Under Display fingerprint scanning solution based on Qualcomm’s fingerprint sensors during this year’s Mobile World Congress.

The smartphone company also plans on assisting in the development of 5G technology by sharing its consumer market experience with Qualcomm in the development of 5G SoCs (System on Chip).
