vivo has launched the highly anticipated S19 series, featuring two models: the vivo S19 and the S19 Pro. Both phones are designed with photography enthusiasts in mind and boast advanced battery technology, though the Pro model comes with additional processing power and an extra camera.

The standout feature of the vivo S19 is its sleek design, measuring just 7.19mm thick and weighing 193g. Despite its slim profile, the phone houses a 6,000mAh battery, made possible by vivo’s Blue Ocean technology, which achieves an energy density of 809Wh/L. This innovation allows the battery to be 16.6% smaller than conventional 6,000mAh batteries, effectively providing 1,000mAh more capacity in the same size. The phone also supports 80W fast charging (wired-only).

The vivo S19 sports a 6.78-inch flat display with a resolution of 1,260 x 2,800 pixels (20:9). This 10-bit OLED panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

Under the hood, the S19 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Most configurations use LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, except for the base model, which includes 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The camera system features a 50MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture, integrated into a punch-hole display. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.88 lens and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), developed in-house, alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

The vivo S19 Pro is slightly thicker at 7.58mm but weighs a gram less at 192g. This model features a more powerful Dimensity 9200+ chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage, exclusively using LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Although the Pro model’s battery capacity is reduced to 5,500mAh due to the additional hardware, it still exceeds most phones in its category, thanks to the Blue Ocean technology with an energy density of 808Wh/L. It also supports 80W wired charging.

The S19 Pro has a similar 6.78-inch 10-bit OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,260 x 2,800 pixels resolution, but it features curved edges. The front camera is the same 50MP unit found in the standard model.

On the back, the S19 Pro is the first to use the Sony IMX921 sensor for its 50MP main camera. It also includes a 50MP telephoto module with a 2x optical zoom and 4x lossless zoom, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Both models feature Aura Light ring flashes for softer illumination.

Both S19 models are built to be durable, with water resistance ratings. The vivo S19 Pro goes further with IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring protection against hot water.

The vivo S19 and S19 Pro are now available in China through vivo’s online store and its partners.
