On Wednesday, September 18, vivo held its official Grand Launch day at Okada, Manila, wherein it introduced another successor to the V-series, the vivo V40 5G.
The event has been anticipated with features that can stand out from the others, as we’ve seen throughout the years in the brand’s v-lineup.
Before exploring the enhancements to the said model, the event had booths and areas showcasing the smartphone’s capabilities. Guests, patrons, friends, media, and the press gathered in this special event featuring the new vivo V40 5G.
Phil Zilong, vivo’s Product Manager, started the night by introducing the vivo V40’s newest features: the latest Gemini Ring Design, 3D Curved Design, slim structure of 7.8mm, a bigger battery of 5,500mAh, new colorways (Nebula Purple, Sunglow Peach, and Stellar Silver), and AI tech Features.
After him comes Daniel Goertz, the product manager, who discusses the camera innovation behind the vivo V40 5G equipped with ZEISS Optics.
Franziska Hoffman, the brand partnership manager at Zeiss Consumer Products, shares the product development behind the optics and lens designs and their dedication to enhancing the camera so that users can capture more genuine and lifelike portraits with the vivo V40’s capabilities in mobile photography.
The speakers were very proud of the optics of the vivo V40 (ZEISS Optics—50MP Zeiss OIS Main Camera with GNJ Sensor, 50MP Zeiss Ultra Wide-Angle Camera, and 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera with 92-degree field of view), as it was all co-engineered with ZEISS.
That said, they have combined it with the new 7 bokeh styles in the Portrait Mode, the newest ZEISS Multiple Focal Lengths, which gives variation to your shots, ZEISS Cinematic Portrait Video, and the integration of AI Technology such as AI Eraser, AI Facial Contouring, AI 3D Studio Lighting, and AI Photo Enhance.
With all the example images exhibited in the event, it ensures every shot users take with the vivo V40 deviates from the standard. Users can maximize all these features with the AI Aura Light, brighter and better than its predecessor.
They also showcase the V40’s slimmer design, which houses a larger 5,500mAh BlueVolt battery and supports 80W flash charge. Users can enjoy the vivo V40 5G without the hassle of frequent charging. To enhance the viewing experience, it also has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED 1.5K Ultra Clear Sunlight Display. The device also delivers smooth performance with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and 24GB RAM (12+12), making it ideal for gaming.
Phil has proudly announced that the vivo V40 5G is the most water-resistant phone in the v-series’ history, rated at IP68 and IP69. It has a robust cushioning structure and is protected by SCHOTT Xensation Cover Glass, which shields the phone from falls and pressure from sitting, making it stronger than before.
Another surprise the brand launched at the event is the vivo Watch 3, which comes in two models: Asteroid Black and Moonlight White. The brand’s wireless earbuds, the TWS 3e, also debuted.
The vivo Watch 3 is packed with features to satisfy the needs of tech-savvy and health-conscious consumers. The device’s bright 1.43-inch display, which has a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, powers all of your notifications and health data.
What astounded the event audience was vivo’s claim of the Watch 3’s 16-hour battery life. The majority of customers opt for practicality, lifespan, and fashionability, and the Watch 3 has all three.
After the products were announced, vivo hosted games, and players from the audience were selected to play with the brand’s ambassadors: Maine Mendoza-Atayde (Filipina Actress), Robert Horry (American Former Basketball Player), and Anne Curtis-Smith (Fil-Aussie Actress).
After a three-game section, the brand announced that Team Maine had won two games, Team Robert had won the second game, and Team Anne had lost both. The winning team’s numbers were chosen using a roulette and the lucky winner was given a brand-new vivo V40 5G.
Participants in the games were given rare posters featuring Maine and Anne, autographed by them, as well as basketballs bearing Robert’s signature.
