WhatsApp working on feature to hide “last seen” status

WhatsApp is rolling out a privacy feature that allows users to hide the “last seen” status to certain contacts.

This feature has been in active development for a few months but has now been released in its beta version for specific beta testers. In order to verify if the feature is available to you and your account, check it in your Privacy Settings to see if the option is ready to use.

When you select “My contacts except…” you can choose those who can see your information on WhatsApp. If you disable your last seen for specific contacts, those selected would not be able to know when the message was last seen. Note that if you disable the “last seen” for someone, you will also not be able to see their “last seen” either.

If the feature is not available on your app, you may see it in the upcoming future as it is still in its beta stages. Stick around for more updates on this.
