WWDC ‘24: AirPods Pro getting three new features this fall

The AirPods Pro will be receiving three new features 12 consisting of Siri Interactions, Voice Isolation, and Personal Spatial Audio.

As announced in Apple’s WWDC, Siri Interactions will deliver a seamless, hands-free experience for AirPods users. This fall, you can respond to Siri by simply nodding your head to say yes or shaking to say no.

This is enabled by machine learning on the H2 chip, and will be helpful in crowded or quiet areas. Examples of use are answering or dismissing calls, interacting with messages, etc.

Moving on, we have Voice Isolation for the AirPods Pro. Initially available on Macs, iPhones, and iPads—this is slated to deliver the best call quality wherever users are.

Again, with the H2 chip, users’ voices are isolated and enhanced while removing intrusive background noise like wind.

Lastly, we have Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. This feature is best paired with gaming, making for an immersive experience with excellent sound quality.

Readers should take note that recipients of this feature are the AirPods (3rd gen), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. Users will get the best wireless audio latency Apple has developed yet.

Get improved voice quality (inclusive of 16-bit, 48kHz audio) when chatting with teammates and other players.

This along with new AirPods features will be available this fall as a free firmware update. Siri Interactions, Voice Isolation, and improved voice quality will be available with AirPods Pro (2nd gen) as well.
