X (formerly Twitter) launches ads revenue sharing program for creators

Creators on X (formerly Twitter 15) can now earn money on the platform, thanks to its ads revenue sharing program. Users who meet the requirements can apply and see their eligibility status through the monetization settings.

X’s new revenue sharing program allows verified users to earn money from ads displayed in replies to their posts. “This is part of our effort to help people earn a living directly on X,” says the company in a support document .

To be eligible, X provided three criteria:

  • Be subscribed to X Blue (formerly Twitter Blue) or Verified Organizations.
  • Have at least 15M impressions cumulative posts within the last 3 months.
  • Have at least 500 followers.

It is now available worldwide, but X says payouts—in coordination with Stripe—are only supported in select countries. The list includes the Philippines.

X’s new revenue sharing program pays out to creators who have earned more than USD 50 on the platform. That’s roughly PHP 2.7K in today’s conversion. Although the company doesn’t reveal (yet) how it calculates the value of its payouts.

Elon Musk first introduced this program some time in February. Initial payouts have been rolling out for some creators totaling to USD 5 million.

In the same document, X updated on July 28th, “Eligible creators who have set up their payout details will receive a payment the week of July 31st if they meet the criteria and their payout amount exceeds the minimum threshold of $50 USD.”

JM's highest stat is probably his curious ardor to anything tech—electronics and gaming in particular. He certainly heeds utmost regard to specsheet, visuals, and rule of thirds. If creativity and wit sometimes leave JM's system, watching films, anime and a good stroll for memes are his approved therapeutic claims.
