Xiaomi’s founder Lei Jun officially announces the company’s next operating system, namely the Xiaomi HyperOS.
In a Weibo post 14, Jun announced the new OS and revealed that their upcoming Xiaomi 14 Series 35, in which production has already begun, will run the new HyperOS.
He claims that this is a “historic moment” (in Chinese) for Xiaomi which will gradually succeed MIUI 22.
If that is indeed the case, HyperOS is presumably more than just a mere rebranding of MIUI. While it will still function as an overlay user interface on top of Android software, it is expected to come with a revamped design, new or different features and functionalities.
And fingers crossed for system ads to be less, if not entirely gone, on the new HyperOS.
Apart from these exciting possibilities, no further specifics have been divulged at this time. As the launch of the Xiaomi 14 approaches, we eagerly anticipate learning more about HyperOS and its potential innovations.
