It seems like Xiaomi is in the midst of preparing the launch of their newest fitness tracker, the Mi Band 3. The new wearable is the soon to be successor of the highly popular Mi Band 2. The announcement came during one of Huami’s, a sub-brand of Xiaomi that focuses on wearables, media communication meetings.
The Mi Band 3 has reportedly already passed Bluetooth certification and will be equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 LE. The wearable will still be compatible with both Android and iOS and is said to come with an OLED panel. Like its predecessor, the Mi Band 3 will have a heart-rate sensor and that impressive 2-3 weeks battery life. Sadly, to prolong battery life Xiaomi still drops premium features like continuous heart rate tracking or built-in GPS.
The Mi Band 3 is expected to have the same price as the Mi Band 2. Xiaomi has yet to announce an official date for the launch but they did say it will happen later this year.
