Cities across China are poised to get the first crack at hotly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 electric car.
The tech giant announced via Weibo that the official release will take place on March 28th, with deliveries commencing immediately after. Reservations will be open to 59 stores spread across 29 cities in China.
To recap, Xiaomi unveiled the SU7 late last year as the company’s debut in the EV market. It is a sleek sedan powered by its in-house HyperOS that promises seamless integration with Xiaomi’s smartphones running the same OS.
The company harbors lofty ambitions of dethroning industry titans, aiming to deliver a vehicle that rivals both Porsche and Tesla.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has previously stated that the SU7 is designed to compete directly with the Porsche Taycan Turbo in terms of performance and the Tesla Model S in technological features.
Xiaomi touts the SU7 as a “performance beast,” highlighting one of its motors that revs at a staggering 21,000 rpm — exceeding competitor offerings.
The Xiaomi SU7 EV will be available in three color options: Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray, and Verdant Green. While the official price tag and broader availability details remain under wraps, all will be revealed on the March 28th launch date. Stay tuned!
