Xiaomi, in partnership with Samsung, has announced that it will develop Redmi’s first 64MP camera smartphone along with a teaser that shows a 108MP phone is on the way as well.
Xiaomi will be using the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 camera sensor in its upcoming Redmi smartphone. It is known that the latter already declared that it is a sub-brand of the rising Chinese smartphone company.
The ISOCELL GW1 is composed of a 1/1.7-inch sensor with a 0.8?m pixel size. It comes with features such as Smart ISO and Hybrid 3D HDR while the images captured by the camera will have a resolution of 9248 x 6936 that could reach a size of around 19MB. To achieve the said image result, this sensor uses a 4-in-1 pixel binning.
Moreover, the company has also teased that they will be creating a 108MP Xiaomi smartphone in the future that will have a 12032 x 9024 resolution. The company didn’t state what kind of sensor they will be using; however, it is most likely that it will be another Samsung ISOCELL sensor.
We’ll know more once Xiaomi has revealed more information about these smartphones in the future.
