Xingyao Optics has announced its first full-frame autofocus lens, the AF85mm F1.8, with a launch scheduled for January 6, 2025, at 8:00 PM.
This is a big deal for the company as it enters the full-frame lens market, after launching its APS-C lens last year. The lens will work with both Sony E and Nikon Z mounts, so it’s great for photographers who use those systems.
The AF85mm F1.8 lens comes equipped with Japanese HOYA optical glass, known for its excellent clarity, and features an OPTORUN optical coating for improved light transmission and reduced glare.
It also incorporates an STM stepping motor for quiet and smooth autofocus performance, ideal for both photography and videography.
Other key features include:
62mm filter thread for attaching filters.
Aperture ring for manual control.
Auto/manual mode switch for quick adjustments.
FN button for additional customizable functionality.
The official price is partially revealed as 1X99 yuan, meaning it will likely be between 1,099–1,999 yuan (~PHP 8,500USD 146INR 12,524EUR 141CNY 1,073–15,500). The exact pricing will be unveiled during the launch event.
Xingyao’s first APS-C autofocus lens, the AF50mm F1.4, debuted at 1,399 yuan (~PHP 10,800USD 186INR 15,913EUR 180CNY 1,363). This full-frame lens will likely be positioned slightly higher in price, offering a premium option for users seeking improved image quality and compatibility with larger sensors.
