AF Payments Inc. recently announced that you can use the “beep” card for cashless payments at the LRT 1, LRT 2, and MRT 3 starting October 3.
The beep card is a stored value smart card that you can use for cashless transactions like paying for your fare at the LRT1, LRT2 and MRT3. The reloadable card is priced at Php20USD 0.34INR 29EUR 0.32CNY 2 and can be purchased at rail station ticket booths, teller window, or at Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs).
The beep card aims to reduce time spent in ticket-buying lines, and streamline train line transfers. In addition, beep offers a slightly lower fare compared to a standard single journey ticket which allows you to save a few bucks especially if you’re a frequent LRT or MRT commuter.
