The Pandora battery is bought using a memory stick of typically 2GB or 4GB. It’s also utilized to unbrick the PSP thus allowing a single to run numerous other games.

Topaz Horizon says:
When the PS3 first came out here, I made a mad rush to V-Mall and bought one of the few units available (for a whopping P45,000!) and proposed to my guy with it. He said YES!
Here’s the story: http://www.topazhorizon.com/2006/12/hear-ye-hear-ye.html (don’t go there if you hate sappy love stories, but I bet you’re wishing your girlfriend also buys you a PS3!)
Of course, three years and four months later, my husband is now complaining that it’s dying (http://www.thirdworldnerd.com/2010/04/is-my-ps3-dying.html). Just in time for its official launch here!!! Should I buy him a new one???
vance says:
@alex, thanks, I was thinking of the Rgion coding for blu-ray movies.. none the less R1 will still run on any PS3 unit
Benito Guevarra says:
I think one of the reasons why Sony is able to launch the PS3 in the Philippines is because of the near complete absence of piracy with PS3 games (“HD movies” is another story, though). And this is probably the reason why the XBox 360 and Wii will never be officially released here. I am wondering why they decided to officially launch the PSP as well, considering that it is one of the most heavily pirated consoles in history (though the newer ones are more difficult to hack, including the Go). The advantage really is the warranty (1 year at least, I hope). Buy from Greenhills and you only get Service warranty. Oh, and goodbye to the “Install Other OS” feature in the PS3 (that is, for those of us who will install the latest update).
Alex says:
@vance,
Region Codes and countries
1 Canada, United States, U.S. territories, Bermuda
2 Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, French overseas territories, Greenland
3 Southeast Asia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau
R3 po ang Pilipinas
vance says:
2ogagos, go to greenhills look for EYO shop. I think the lens cost around 5K
ogagos says:
mga sir san alam nyo pwede magpa repair ps3? from US kc pasalubong lang tas nasira ung bluray nya, kahit anu cd ilagay ko ndi nareread kaya ndi na rin ako makapaglaro, aside from that everything is ok naman
iamupset says:
@MindanaoBob and Chris: Dabawenyos united hehehe.. so I guess for now we don’t get any of these warranties if we buy a unit outside of Metro Manila (a.k.a. “The Philippines”)
vance says:
btw.. r2 and r3 will work on any PS3.. but as far as I know, some r2 and r3 requires you to have an HDTV.
vance says:
R1 tayo.. same region with the us. which is good. atleast you can buy blu-rays from the us
juan says:
hi joan!

Ian says:
is sony philippines r3? (region 3) or r1? just wondering. i would really like to support the ps3 in the philippines, but my console and games are all r1 (US/north america)
Vance says:
@abe well, that is a different story.. but you will need to buy the unit at their partner stores which at times prices higher to accommodate the rent of the store. I don’t know what they package for their units though. In Grenhills for example for almost the same price you get 2 games for free (or discounted price) and it doesn’t matter how much the game is inclusive na yun sa price..
Abe Olandres says:
@vance – but the free games are pirated ones right? The legit ones will always be behind the gray market sellers.
rene says:
my daughter is planning to get a psp. question can psp3006 download hack games or psp2000 games. thanks
Adrian says:
wow ang ganda nung mga naka cosplay :)
Abe Olandres says:
@vance – and Sony Warranty?
Mike says:
Didn’t know PS3 and PSP are not in the Philippines yet

lolipown says:
@Vance,
The launch simply means that the Philippines will have it’s own PSN channel (or region or something).
Vance says:
added to that there are shops that sell PS3 games region 1 to 3 pick your prices! all of them are original since fake ones aren’t available anywhere..
Vance says:
what is new with this launch, don’t we have sony ps3 and psp already since it was launch? or am I missing something? did they launch a official store? don’t we have several shops who fixes sony PS3 and PSP that is way cheaper…
or will we see games priced in Playstation store?
daddy joey says:
i posted some photos of the cosplayers on my blog. Ü
sylv3rblade says:
Ah wait, Sir Abe, did Sony indicate where we would be able to buy PSN points?
Winziph says:
Good point MindanaoBob. Can’t wait for SONY PSP new titles.
Chris says:
I agree with MindanaoBob. The rest of the Philippines is totally left out. I’m in Davao City and I’m envious! :)
MindanaoBob says:
Hey Abe, your title should be “Sony PlayStation in Manila”. Sony obviously thinks that only Manila is the Philippines.
mycry says:
glad its there na sa atin … i rather go for the PSP Go … absolutely the best for me … my son really loves it … and knowing that it has a wi-fi its so easy to download games … besides catchy sya coz of its design … but overall, its the best one ive bought for my son …
symbiandreamsdotcom says:
ung PSP Go sa 2012? :D
Abe Olandres says:
@leo – if the suggested retail price I published above is any indication, they should be.
Leo says:
so it means lower cost for the game consoles as well as the orig (non-hacked) games?
Pedro says:
i’m planning to buy PS3 this year…yey….
sylv3rblade says:
Hmm so you’re paying for support with the price from the official stores. Up it to at least two years and they’ve got a good deal.
jv paz says:
sa wakas! it’a about time!
Rommel A says:
Feels good that our country is included in Sony’s gaming map, its about time, Pinoy gamers!

Abe Olandres says:
@gideon – Sony says, eventually — yes.
Gideon says:
Don’t care much about the PS3 or PSP launch. I think the more important question is: are we going to have an official Philippine PSN store? It’s really hard to buy PSN credits for PSN stores from other countries.
Lance says:
damn! :D time to forget xbox? hehe
Calvin says:
hehe naunahan mo ako by minutes. will send you your pic with kratos.
