Resident Evil 7 announced, and it’s horrifying again

The Resident Evil franchise has had a lot of ups and downs, and for the past few years, it had an idenitity crisis. Should it cater to the market of those who want action-shooters? Or should it be one who continues its trend of survival horror? We have the answer now.

re 7

Resident Evil 7 is now official, and it’s now a first person game. So far, all that we have is a demo – indicating that the atmosphere will revive your claustrophobia, there will be puzzles, and they haven’t dropped horror, the inventory system, and a lot of things. Plot details haven’t been dropped, and we’re still not sure if the setting is final, nor if the demo has any connection to the real game as it does give off the Silent Hill P.T. vibe, but one thing’s for sure — it’s a change of direction for the company.

The demo is now available for Playstation Plus subscribers, and it’s going to be compatible with VR. Resident Evil 7 will be out on January 24, 2017 for the Playstation 4, Xbox One & PC.

Capcom seem to screw up games once in a while and this might be it for the resident evil series. It looks beautiful but looks like a copycat game. The story and gameplay might make it or break it. Hopefully its not the end of the series. Not a fan of first person games.
