Tetris is probably the most popular game in the 90s — and you wouldn’t believe it has been 25 years since it was invented (designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov in June 6, 1984).
Back then, everyone was playing Tetris from my 60-year old grandmother to my 6 year-old cousins. Tetris was so simple yet so addictive. The game was everywhere, from Gameboy to PC, and those cheap handheld versions that feature 300-in-1 ways to play Tetris (was it a knockoff called Bricks or Brick Games?).
And up to today, the game is still alive and being played by many. Will all the technology in gaming that we have lately, I think Tetris can still be re-invented (most probably for the Nintendo Wii).
Anybody played any Tetris lately?

Thanks to the Tetris effect, I’ve had an extremely profitable career as a barker for more than a decade by visualizing passengers in a crowded jeepney as colorful geometric shapes.
i remember sa eat bulaga may pa-contest ang pop cola yung brick the record ata yun. trinay ko sumali kaso ang lulupit ng mga sumasali. i still play it sa touch kasi yun yung pinakasimple at nakakrelax na game.

nakipag away ako dahil dito ahaha
My favorites in the 90s were Wolfenstein 3d, Doom and Quake I and II, and Descent? Oh, and 3D chess of course; de rigueur for geeksters. I didn’t like Tetris much.
That game can probably be found on Macs.
never played it for a while but I still remember the cheat… :)
Ah the nostalgia of playing this game really does bring back good memories!

Pano n lng ngaun? Hindi lng habang tumatawid – nagti-text. Pati ung nagmamaneho ng kotse nagti-text.
gameboy :) played a competition for this once, only got so far.
nung high school ako addict din ako diyan. brick game tawag natin diyan di ba?
my old “brick game” is 8888-in-1. yes its 8,888 — still resides on my “baul” of collections. i bought it for P550 when i was in high school. now that you mentioned it, i’ll take a hit on it later this afternoon.
