Spotted at the Octagon Computer Store at the SM Mall of Asia is the new 10-inch Acer Aspire One. Looks like it arrived earlier than we expected (we reported earlier that PC Corner is taking pre-orders for March 15).
The specs are the same but the price, according to Octagon sales people, is now just Php23,900 for the basic specs (1GB RAM, 160GB HDD). That practically shoots down the BenQ Joybook we posted yesterday.
Can’t really say how many units they have in stock but if you’re in a hurry to get the 10″ Aspire One, check out one of the other Octagon stores nearest you. They might also have a unit or two in store. PC Corner’s listed price also dropped to Php23,500 from Php25,995 (thanks to prevailing forex rates).

Yes, the P23,900 comes with an OS – WindowsXP Home.
I would wait for windows 7 before purchasing any touchscreen netbook.
Will asus 1000 HE arrive in the Philippines?
Wow! really.. do they have that in eye candy pink? Ü
So there’s gonna be an HD-capable netbook? Wow that’s great!
When will it be available in the market kaya?
Yuga,

I think I’ll go with Calvin and hold off for the next generation e-book.
To add to this, the Acer 4730z I got for the wife is really nifty but also quite helfty. Not very good for a female reporter who is constantly on the run.
quick question: does the 23,900 come with an OS?
looks good, but i won’t exchange my Lenovo S10 for that. hee!
if you’re gonna buy a netbook i would suggest holding off for the next generation of netbooks. HD capability and longer battery life.
I think it looks solid. :)
But I’m actually holding out for the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 – that netbook is hot!
they fixed the placement of the left/right click buttons. cool! still love my Eee, though. ;)
this looks like a nice netbook
