11.6″ Acer Aspire One AO751 Spotted, Priced

The newer 11.6-inch Acer Aspire One has been spotted on several PC shops in MOA and Park Square 1. Arriving only last week, they’re now bigger, slimmer but a bit slower.

The Acer Aspire One AO751 now comes with an Atom Z520 1.33GHz CPU instead of the N280 we’ve been expecting. No idea why Acer would switch to this CPU though.

Specs: Acer Aspire One AO751h-25Yb
Intel Atom Z520, 1.33GHz
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB SATA HDD
11.6″ WXGA LCD (1366×768 pixel)
Intel GMA 500 graphics
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth
Card Reader
6-cell battery
Webcam

It’s now installed with Windows Vista Home instead of XP and is priced at Php27,500USD 469INR 39,727EUR 446CNY 3,413.

I’ve been asking the sales people to show me the WAN port (as indicated in the sticker of the netbook) but no one was able to do so. My guess is that it could be on another model that’s why they indicated it’s WAN-ready, a bit deceptive though IMO. The Z5xx processor is also a big concern knowing that it didn’t fare very well on the Sony Vaio P.

  1. wow, may multi-touch ung trackpad! :D

  2. this kool and cheap.

  3. i saw you last monday at MoA Cyberzone…kaso busy ka window shopping sa gadgets doon :D

  4. ASTIG!!!

  5. Is this netbook worth buying or should we just go purchase one of the previous models? I guess new isn’t always good.

  6. Been reading comments because I might purchase a netbook soon.

Main issue: why go Z520 (1.33) when Acer could have used either N270 (1.60) or N280 (1.66)? Z550 (2.0) will not yet be available anytime soon in other netbooks except that of Sony. I’m not really sure if the Z processors work best with Vista better than the N processors.

Worth buying? hmmm… I think performance wise an N280 netbook (which could be priced cheaper nowadays) with a 2gig memory would be better. Although XP is a bit old of an OS now but I’m no saying Vista is better than XP.

I was hoping that at the least Acer put up a Z530 processor in it.

I’m also hoping that these specs would meet Windows 7’s requirements.

Aesthetically though it looks nice and the feel is great.

    250GIG space though is nice.^_^
