Cherry Mobile outs yet another Android tablet yesterday, a 7-inch Cherry Pad Turbo, running Gingerbread 2.3 and sells for only Php6,899.
While most other tablet manufacturers go for the obvious route, Cherry Mobile went the other way with a super-affordable WiFi-only tablet.
Cherry Pad Turbo specs:
7-inch capacitive display
1.2GHz Rockchip processor
512MB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Bluetooth 2.1
Android 2.3 Gingerbread
The rest of the specs like battery, screen resolution and wether that Rockchip processor is a single-core 1.2GHz or a dual-core 600MHz we’ve been seeing in other China tablets. And unlike the CM Superion, this one does not have a 3G modem in it.
Cherry Mobile is supposed to sell Cherry Pad Turbo at Php9,899 but is doing an intro price of only Php6,899.

I was really impressed with specs and the affordability of this tab–was looking at it the other day here at yugatech and i wanted to buy asap–went to the mall immediately–unfortunately naubusan sila ng stocks–kaso, when I started checking for reviews, dami tlgang bad reviews at marami silang lemon units–syang–kung mgtatagal lng I won’t hesitate to grab one of this kaso–nkakatakot–7thousand is still 7 thousand–syang din kung masira lng agad–kung marami lang sanang options na affordable and quality tabs dito sa pinas such as lenovo idepad a1 (199 USD)–mas okay sana–

good thing i didnt buy this Cm tablet.. its a wste of your money.. sooo many complaints.. like over heating, crash problems.. then after 2 weeks you need to replace it due to its damages.. i bought zte v9 its cheap.. onky 12000 pesos brand new and its quality can compete with samsung tablets.. and it is a phone!! down side is 600mhz processor but hey.. its quality i tell you.. i hve mine 8months now.. no complains at all!!!
Chic Haron says:
But did you buy one and tested it? Or are you just mouthing second hand info? I will believe you if you buy a unit, test it personally and tell us if it’s worth the P6.8k they’re asking for it. Nothing could be simpler, right?
egram says:
i bought CPT so i could bring it wherever i go. but since i’m still a student, i need to do some paper works. Unfortunately i’m having a hard time to install Microsoft word. any suggestions?
taleweaver says:
It’s android os so you won’t be able to install microsoft word on it. What you can install are some compatible applications like “documents to go” or “officesuite”
manny says:
I bought mine a week ago at SM Marikina. I am a novice on android so the tablet satisfies my needs. It served only as a tester on android device in addition to the iOS of ipod, ipad and iphone devices on projects I am doing. It comes only with a user manual and there is no technical specs. It is gingerbread 2.3.1. It has front and 2 MP back camera that can capture video that is not so smooth. My daughter play games and sometimes hangs up. Good there is a reset button. I enhanced it by buying a 32 gb tf card and a keyboard. Battery lasted for 4 hours running slideshow, video and game. It has a HDMI output and full USB host for mouse, keyboard, 3G modem and peripherals. I tried a sun usb broadband and does not work yet as I was told by the shop, maybe and upgrade later. For it’s price, it is a better buy.
Jerico says:
I bought one today. I’ll have to say i am impressed so far – too bad it doesnt have GSM capabilities, but still as internet/multimedia device, it does its job pretty well. ill just have to check out battery life and see how it holds.
Marco says:
CPT’s batter life is a bit low. It stands for 5 hrs.
Front Facing Cam : VGA
Chadwick says:
chief, tanong lang po kung san nyo po nabili yan and kung kaya bang mag-play ng 720p videos?

I might buy this for my technophobe dad and idiot pamangkin who will probably put glue on it, anyways hope it’s not like one of those other China tablets that lags or hangs-up during operation…

Basta ako, nagtanda na nung makabili ako ng CM Orbit. It’s not worth it talaga.
chinitoguy says:
I love the specs but is it worth buying? Cherry Mobile has issues with hardware durability…
Je says:
So pwede ang android apps? I’m not a techie guy here pero mukhang okay na rin siya kung pang-surf lang, mura na. Acceptable kaya ang sensitivity ng touch screen :D
lawrence says:
I still don’t like the quality of cherry mobile, but the pricing of this tablet is a big leap from their previous model which I think was released for 15k++, plus this has way more powerful specs.
Kudos to the free aluminum bottle too. Joke.
Kyle says:
Good move by Cherry. And they apparently brought the right tablet at the right price. They haven’t disclosed what SOC it uses, but I’m absolutely certain that this Cherry Pad Turbo has an RK2918 SOC. That’s good news as it’ll basically bring Galaxy Tab P1000 performance to the table. The tablet itself looks like a custom variant of the Wopad i7 which has a 7″ 2 or 5 point capacitive touchscreen and an RK2918 SOC. It’ll also be 3.7V and if it’s paired up with a single cell or two cell in parallel battery in the 12 to 15 Whr range, it’ll be around 3200-4000 MAh real. Though I’m pretty sure this’ll be at least 3200 MAh, 3.7V, single cell. My pals at Slatedroid have guaranteed AT LEAST 5 hours of wifi browsing on their Wopad i7s.
I kinda wish Cherry brought in a rebranded Ainol Novo 7 instead, which I have here (bought it from AliExpress dirt cheap. $154 all in all, shipped with UPS Worldwide Express Saver). Build quality is leaps and bounds better than the Wopad i7. It’s better built than the Galaxy Tab P1000. lmao. Best part is that it has a newer Allwinner A10 SOC that contains a dedicated PMU and Mali-400 GPU. I get around 6-7 hours of wifi browsing on a single charge. Then again, the Wopad i7 is altogether a great choice for Cherry to bring to the Philippine market.
Bottom line for the Cherry Pad Turbo: Galaxy Tab P1000 performance, crappier 800×480 res, good multi-touch capacitive screen, no GPS, awesome price.
Kevin says:
Sir question lang, nung umorder kayo sa AliExpress, may tax pa ba kayo na binayaran pagdating ng item sa philippines? i mean sa customs, or direct sa house iyong Delivery ng UPS..? TIA.
blitz says:
how about the battery life? can it sustain a 6 hours surf?
DoNotBuy says:
Had the original and it did not last 2 months before the screen broke (shattered) while touching the home button. It will not link with Android Market and their lie is a NDA. Which is BS!!! Stay clear.

Androyd25 says:
May accelerometer / motion sensor kaya ito?
Jung Eun Wooki says:
This is very tempting.. saan ka makakabili ng 7 inch capacitive gingerbread tablet na less than 7k ngayon? Kaya lang sirang sira na ang reputation ng Cherry Mobile pagdating sa hardware quality at aftersales support, pinalabas pa sa national television.
MyNameIsKret says:
Maraming kailangan itake into consideration..
1. Wifi n not supported.
2. Responsiveness ng screen to touch gestures.
3. Battery life (kahit mAh power rate lang).
4. Physical built.
Sadly kahit mura, hindi ata nila nabigyan pansin mga key features na importante sa isang tablet.
droly23hp says:
other sites said its not a dual core so probably its 1-core 1.2ghz and resolution is 800×600(?)
Kikokix says:
Very competitive SRP. Now the question is how is the battery life and performance?
I hope you get to review one soon.
Wakocoke says:
CM7 on this thing, win
Iyan Sommerset says:
Sweet. Car GPS – slash – media player!
Kyle says:
I’m pretty sure this is a Wopad i7. It does NOT have GPS. But it is a very fast single core, Cortex A8 tablet though. It’ll put to shame much more expensive tablets when it comes to video playback though.
mike says:
what kind of screen? IPS? And resolution of the screen? Battery size?

damn it! bat ang mura? hahaha sana sulit to para sa mga bibili.
