Alcatel announces One Touch Evo7 modular tablet

Alcatel has announced its latest Android tablet with an optional 3G module, the 7-inch Alcatel One Touch Evo7.

The One Touch Evo7 is Alcatel’s first “modular” tablet because of its removable “3G module” that quickly provides the tablet with 3G connectivity. The said module is actually a frame that surrounds the tablet and is available in different colors. Remove the frame and the Evo7 becomes a WiFi only tablet. For the specs it has a 7-inch display with unknown resolution, 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, WiFi, front-facing camera, Micro SD card support (up to 32GB) and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

No details on pricing and launch date as of the moment but it will land in Europe first when it comes out.

  1. 1 Ghz processor ? What year are we in ? 2009 ?

  2. 1Ghz is just mediocre for a tablet nowadays..unless otherwise its a dual core or quadcore hehehe..

Hope it will be coupled with a powerful GPU
    Plus a modest battery.

  3. A modular tablet with detachable 3g module? Interesting concept but it’s the same as having the keyboard dock for others like the transformer prime right?

I hope companies continue this trend, make tablets more like pcs with interchangeable parts, hopefully we won’t be limited specs of a given device… Replaceable camera/processor/ram maybe? :D

  4. huh? nagrereklamo kayo sa 1GHz tapos iccomapre niyo is dual or quadcore? are you serious? check that, nexus 7 : Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9. sobrang laki ba ng diff ng 0.3ghz? well. nde pa nga sinabi kung single core or dual or quad core to e.. tsssk

  5. 1 GHz processor is okay as long na mura sya. For a price range of 5K-7K, I’ll go for it! but higher than that and it’s only fature is the removable “3G module” … I dont think so. I ‘ll just go for a pocket wifi.

  6. I have been surfing online more than 2 hours today, yet
I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all site owners and
bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever
    before.|
    I couldn’t refrain from commenting. Perfectly written!|
Would be interesting to hear other side on this story. Otherwise this would be even more scandalous than a joke.

  7. Ok lang naman. Nakita ko ito sa Sun Cell for postpaid nga lang. Magkano kaya ito?
