The introduction of the Asus Eee PC 1001P is somewhat a bit of an odd thing because the earlier Seashell models (1005P, 1005HA and 1008HA) already completed the line-up.
Besides, if you based it on the SKU, this model seems like an older one.
The specs aren’t any much different too:
Asus Eee PC 1001P
10.1″ display screen @ 1024×600 pixels
Intel Atom N450 @ 1.66GHz
Intel GMA 3150
1GB DDR2 RAM
160GB HDD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth
1.3MP webcam
Windows XP Home
Price: Php19,995
Aside from the lower price (~Php2,000), the only big difference between this one and the Eee PC 1005P is the smaller storage (160GB vs. 250GB) and the pre-installed operating system (Windows XP vs. Windows 7 Starter). Maybe that’s where all that savings were passed on.
saw on youtube a german guy who tried to use the 1001p with adobe photoshop.

Hi. Can a laptop like this handle programs such as adobe Photoshop or adobe dreamweaver? I am a graphic artist and web developer and I am looking for a small and light unit. Thanks!

I’m a fine arts student. I’ve used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign CS4 on my EEE PC for plates and other assignments. It can be slow when saving files. The monitor isn’t good for graphic design, though, as it does not display colors as accurately as more dedicated monitors. I tried installing InDesign CS5 but it crashed.
Hi Sir Yuga, anybody…what’s the battery? 3 cell or 6 cell?
@haytek – 6-cell
