There’s not much you can do with the current line of netbooks nowadays. Most of the time, it’s just some sort of re-design and that’s what they did with the Asus Eee PC 1018P.
At first sight, the netbook seems like just any other unit it the Eee PC Seashell line with a little touch of a texture on the lid cover. It looks thinner though compared to the previous Seashell series.
The specs of the netbook takes the usual line-up with a few improvements here and there, including Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0 ports.
Asus Eee PC 1018P specs:
10.1-inch display @ 1024×600 pixels
Intel Atom N455 @ 1.66 GHz, with HyperThreading
Intel GMA 3150 graphics
1GB DDR3 RAM (2GB max)
250GB HDD
WiFi 802.11n
Bluetooth 3.0
3 x USB 2.0
0.3MP webcam
Gigabit LAN
5,800mAh battery
3-in-1 card reader
Windows 7 Starter
The general look of the 1018P is much better, especially with that aluminum finish around the keyboard area. The chiclet-type keys are becoming a standard as well and this white model is looks really good.
Asus reps tell me they have no release date for this unit yet so we don’t have any final figure of retail price. I reckon it would land in the same price range as the regular units (~Php21k – Php23k).
Oh wow, ang ganda nga nung design. ASUS pa so robust ito. :)

WOW! this is really a looker especially the aluminum finish.. looking forward for this one..
@islacom IMHO ASUS is BETTER than HP especially netbook/notebook wise. ;)
@kevinn this is a decent processor especially it has hyperthreading technology.
@abe sir yuga, are you sure the camera is just 0.3MP? that would be a bummer if its so.. :(
Wow, this is a looker and I hope you’re right with the price Abe.
Processor-wise, how does this compare with the current crop of Atoms?
is this model better than the HP Mini 311-1002TU?
I know that the two netbooks have different specs and screen size, but just to compare which is a better netbook amont the 2?
please help.
I think that’s three ports of USB2.
I saw this already in another website review and boy, it sure is a looker. I’m hanging on to my 1000HE until this arrives!
looks nice, especially the white finish..and good enough specs for a notebook anyway.
the keyboard looks very familiar…
Nice unit, good specs. I just hope with the new line of USB 3.0 compatible laptops there are actual USB 3.0 devices to use it for.
