If the Asus Lamborghini VX6 is beyond your budget, Asus offers a two more netbooks with a budget that’s up our alley — the Eee PC 1215N and 1215T — both of which are upgrades to the 1201N and 1201T.
Like it’s predecessor, the Asus Eee PC 1215T is powered by an AMD processor but unlike the old ones which are glossy, this model already has a matte finish both on the lid and the palm rest.
Asus Eee PC 1215T specs:
12.1″ display @ 1366×768 pixels
AMD Athlon II Neo K125 @ 1.7GHz
ATI Radeon HD 4225
2GB DDR2 RAM
250GB HDD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0 (optional)
HDMI port
2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0 ports
SD/MMC card reader
0.3MP webcam
6-cell 5200mAh battery
The Eee PC 1215T can be bought without an OS and will most likely be within the same price range as the old 1201T (Php21k – Php23k).
The single core Athlon II Neo K125 got a sub-score of 3.6 while the whole system got a base score of 3.0 from the graphics.
The other model, the Eee PC 1215N, comes with the new dual-core Intel Atom D525 running at 1.8GHz. The model also comes in two-toned silver and black brushed-metal finish.
Asus Eee PC 1215N specs:
12.1″ display @ 1366×768 pixels
Intel Atom D525 @ 1.8GHz (dual-core)
NVidia Ion 2
2GB DDR3 RAM
250GB/320GB HDD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0 + HS
HDMI port
2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0 ports
SD/MMC card reader
6-cell 5200mAh battery
Windows 7
The Eee PC 1215N is basically the regular version of the luxury model Asus Lamborghini VX6 we featured earlier.
We also got a screenshot of the Windows Experience Index of the unit. The dual-core CPU got only 3.5 sub-score which is a little intriguing considering the higher clock speed of the Atom processor (a Pentium Dual Core 1.3GHz SU4100 and Core 2 Duo SU7300 both score 4.0 on WEI).
The suggested retail price is not yet final but if we base it on the 1201N, it will be around Php27k once it comes out in stores.
Update: Asus announced that these units will be available by October. The 1215N will have a price of Php28,999 while the 1215T will cost Php23,999.

Hi Bro’s! I buy this 1215T Silver yesterday but the one i brought was an AMD V105 running only @ (1.2GHz) and not the K125 (1.7GHz) version, in Alabang for 16K only. I installed Windows 7 ultimate and tried to play video in 1080P & 720P HD resolution and it was great. I am working to install additional OS the Ubuntu for this one.

Just got a 1215T from Accent Micro (SM Pampanga Branch) for my wife last Saturday. The price was Php21,999. I think the performance is quite alright. I even managed to create a 6 minute 720p movie using Windows Movie Maker (the one from Windows Live Essentials).
I must say that I am quite amazed as to how this unit performs. It’s way better than your average netbook. Take that from someone who has experienced using a Lenovo S10 and two other MSI netbooks.

where can I buy this? Any store suggestions in Metro Manila. :) Thank you!

Hi Yuga,
I purchased 1215T yesterday at megamall and all looks well and good. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate in it and made all the difference. Plugging it in my 42inch plasma TV via its HDMI port looks so nice.
The 1080P playback full HD experience playing 720P and 1080P mkv files is the only thing that didn’t live up to my expectations – movie is a little bit jumpy. Playing the divx types are not a problem though.
Any advice on how I can improve my full hd playback? Played using VLC.
PS: I was told you are friends with Resty.

no offense, sir yuga, but are you still living in the MHz/GHz era? The Atom and Core architectures are very different. Atoms are in-order CPU architectures, meaning they process instructions “in order”. Cores, on the other hand, are out-of-order CPUs, which are able to process instructions “out of order”.
They might not seem significant, but just to briefly explain the performance difference: most instructions need data w/c may or not be in the CPU cache already. If it is, then execution of that instruction is almost the same on both architectures. If it’s not, then the CPU needs to fetch the data from main memory(RAM) or, worse, the pagefile. On Atoms(in-order), the CPU “waits” for the data and does nothing, wasting precious nanoseconds. On Cores(out-of-order), the CPU can do other instructions(which don’t rely on the missing data or its results) while waiting for the data to arrive. While this is a performance advantage, it adds complexity and additional power consumption to the circuit. Since Atoms are targeted towards the ultraportable market, they are designed to be in-order.

Hey y’all!

Thanks a lot in advance.

Is there a definite date when the 1215N be available here and it’s SRP? Thanks.
balong says:
the most important question, when is asus philippines releasing this?
MelP says:
Any firm release dates? I’m shopping around for a netbook and this will be perfect. Jeez, if I can buy it today I would.
Momet says:
1215n has optimus technology
it can go for 7 hours (depends on what you are doing)
compared to the 1201n its a beefed up system, this “netbook” can play starcraft2 at medium settings with no problems
Jab says:
@warfab – tnx! I wonder why Yuga left that part out on the spec list? I guess I’ll have to be on ipon mode for the next couple of months.
Eason says:
We have an Asus 1201N and its really nice to have. I wonder if the 1215T can compete with those Dual Core Laptops like T4400. o_o
Pusang Kulog says:
Is the 2 gig memory upgradeable?
lolipown says:
The Asus Eee PC 1215T is looking great, how fares it’s battery life?
warfab says:
@yuga: I hope that Asus tags the 1215N’s SRP at less than P28K when they officially distribute it locally na :D
Abe Olandres says:
@warfab – Asus tells me they don’t have control over parallel imports.
warfab says:
@yuga: The 1215N has been offered since Aug 20, 2010 on tipidpc for P28K
warfab says:
@Jab: According to engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/31/asus-eee-pc-1215n-review/), the 1215N has Optimus
Abe Olandres says:
@solodad – yup, it can!
Solidad says:
@yuga Can the 1215T play a 1080p video?
Abe Olandres says:
@lunatech – my test with my own SU4100 gives me 4.0 only.
LunaTech says:
sir abe, yung su4100 scored 4.6 in Windows Experience Index WEI
Jab says:
If only this had Nvidia’s Optimus…
