The Asus NX90 is a limited edition laptop designed in collaboration with Daniel Lewis, the man behind the Bang and Olufsen look. Asus has made the notebook available in the Philippines on a per-order basis only.
Asus NX90 specs
18.4″ display @ FUll HD 1080p (1920×1080 pixels)
Intel Core i7 740QM (6M cache, 1.73 GHz, 4 cores, 8 threads)
Turbo Boost to 2.93 GHz
nVidia GeForce GT 335M 1GB DDR3
6GB DDR3 RAM
2 x 500GB HDD (1TB)
Bluray/DVD+RW combo
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
6-cell battery
The unit weighs in at 4.4kg which is reasonable because of its size. The specs reminded me of the MSI GT660 gaming laptop we reviewed here last month, primarily due to that double 500GB HDD its got.
The Asus NX90 is available on a per-order basis only (thru Asus Concept Stores found in the malls) with a suggested retail price of Php129,995.

why are you guys calling this a beast? This is backed up with Intel Core i7 740QM (this is a 1st gen processor and we already have 5th gen). Only those who have no idea about the hardware will buy this thing.

I don’t really care who designed this laptop, but it has “metrosexual” written all over it. And we all know that metrosexual is just another word for…. well, whatever.
One other thing: for half the price (~$1600), you can get a much better and more portable laptop than the NX90, the MSI GX660r. Better specs all around with full HD on a 15.6″ screen. Even the GT660 is a better laptop than the NX90, with the exception of its LCD panel.
Darel says:
Don’t forget that this beast has not one, but TWO trackpads and some pretty sweet 5.1 surround.
